Man Drowns After Front End Loader Falls Into Water

A 62-year-old man lost his life at work after the front end loader he was driving fell over the side of a bridge and plunged into the water below.

Police Investigating

Water rescue crews arrived to the scene of the accident but they were too late - he had already been trapped below the surface for too long and had drowned. Police are still unsure of exactly what caused the accident but are investigating.

Death Benefits Available To Family Members

Sadly, this man is not the first or the only construction worker to lose his life this year. There is nothing on this earth that can take away the pain that his loved ones are experiencing right now, however, it is possible that they may be able to recover financial compensation which would help them while they mourn.

Financial compensation may come in two forms:

1. Workers' Comp Death Benefits
2. Compensation Through A Wrongful Death Lawsuit

Those who are eligible to claim either of these are typically the parents, spouses, or children of the deceased. Other dependents may also be eligible.

Workers' compensation is required by a law and when a claim is approved, the deceased loved ones will be able to receive weekly payments which are meant to compensate for the loss of income that had been provided by the accident victim. Unfortunately, getting a claim approved can be quite difficult and is best attempted with the assistance of a lawyer.

At the same time, a lawyer can identify if a wrongful death lawsuit is an option and can help guide the plaintiffs through the legal process. This complaint is filed against a third-party whose negligence resulted in the accident which took the life of the worker.

At least one person was taken to the hospital after a three car crash in the Juniata Park area of Philadelphia this past week.

Police Investigating The Car Accident

The accident occurred at around 7:15 a.m. and although the police are still unsure about the cause, the resulting impact sent one car over the sidewalk and into a fence and a second car into a nearby building. At least one person was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

Car Accidents One Of The Most Common

This is just one of thousands of car accidents that will happen in 2018 and sadly, those who were injured are just the first of the year. In fact, in Pennsylvania there are hundreds of car accident victims who have been forced to pursue both work injury claims and car accident lawsuits due to the injuries they sustained in an accident.

While many drivers and passengers believe that car insurance will cover the cost of medical expenses after an accident this is frequently not the case. Once a policy limit has been met the insurance company simply stops paying the bills no matter where the victim is at in their care.

If the victim was working at the time of the accident they may be able to obtain coverage through workers' compensation insurance, however, a shocking number of these claims are denied by companies attempting to save money. This often results in the victim filing a car accident lawsuit which is a claim against the driver or party whose negligence caused the accident.

Lawsuits can provide a plaintiff with full compensation for not only medical bills but also lost wages, physical pain and suffering, and emotional trauma. To learn more about the legal process and our law firm, contact us today.

2-Year-Old Twins Are Seriously Injured In A Car Accident

There is never a convenient time for a car to breakdown, however, sometimes the location puts the driver and passengers in serious danger. That's exactly what happened in Feb 22nd, 2017 and unfortunately for one family, they did not escape unscathed.

On the day of the accident, a 27-year-old man was driving with his fiancee and her two-year-old twin girls on Route  63 in Northeast Philadelphia. During their drive, the van overheated and the driver was forced to bring it to a stop in the left lane. He then got out to check the radiator and put fluid into it.

Unknown to him, another man in a White Honda Accord was coming up behind them in the same lane. The driver allegedly dropped something in the car becoming distracted. This action caused him to drift into the center lane, striking a third car, a Subaru Impreza. The impact of this collision then sent the Honda into the minivan.

When the second collision occurred, the force caused the minivan to hit the driver, throwing him into the highway. He sustained head trauma and other serious injuries and although he was alive when police arrived, he later died from his injuries. Both twins also sustained serious injuries including head trauma and broken bones and their mother sustained minor injuries.

The driver of the Subaru was not injured but the driver of the Honda broke his hip and leg.

The police are still investigating the accident and have not announced if they will be pressing charges against the at-fault driver.

Who Was At Fault?

In this case, the driver of the Honda would be considered at fault. Although the minivan was stopped on a highway, the victim did what they could to get out of the way and it was the Honda driver's responsibility to keep their eyes on the road.

Distracted driving, which can be caused by texting, eating, drinking, grooming, or any number of those activities, is one of the leading causes of car accidents in America. All it takes is a few seconds and, just like in this case, serious damage can be done to others on the road and lives taken prematurely.

Serious accidents like this one are why car accident lawsuits are allowed. These claims give a family the change to recover financially from their losses, although nothing can ever bring back their loved one.
